Fellow Citizens of Godley ISD,
On February 25, 2008, the Godley ISD Board of Trustees called a bond election for $27,780,000 to be voted on May 10, 2008.
We understand that what the district is proposing must be communicated to our citizens in very clear details, and that our citizens must be well-informed before they go to the polls to vote for this issue. Therefore, the District has prepared this brochure as well as a bond website which you can find by visiting www.godleyisd.com. There will also be numerous presentations about the bond election across our community over the coming weeks.
To understand the realities of our current educational facilities, an architectural firm completed a district-wide facility assessment. Each campus was evaluated in terms of overall condition; architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural systems; and code compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Texas Education Agency.
Based on this information, the proposed bond election includes additions and renovations to Godley Elementary School, Godley Intermediate School, Godley Middle School and Godley High School. These projects, if approved, are estimated to increase our tax rate by a maximum of 5 cents.
Details about the projects and tax impact can be found on this bond website. You may also submit any questions you have under the FAQ link to the left.
We encourage each of you to vote in this election. If you’re not registered to vote, please do so by April 10; you can find voter registration cards under the Bond Proposition link of this website.
Sincerely,
Paul Smithson, Superintendent
